    Basic Analysis

    The basic analysis is done soon after your sample is received, and completed in 30 minutes.

    • It includes: semen volume, sperm count, motility (percent of moving sperm), and forward sperm movement.
    • The technician shows you your sperm sample under the microscope to help you appreciate the results better.
    After the basic analysis, every patient is seen by Dr. Brandeis to explain the results, answer your questions, and provide a concise male fertility consultation — at no additional charge.

    Comprehensive Analysis — includes Morphology

    Morphology describes the percentage of sperm with a normal or abnormal appearance. Normal sperm have an oval-shaped head, with no midpiece or tail defects.

    • We provide a detailed analysis of the abnormalities found in the sperm head, midpiece, and tail.
    • Many programs report only the percentage of normal sperm, with no description of the abnormalities found.
    • Our detailed analysis helps your physician understand potential problems that could explain a male fertility issue.
    The comprehensive final report is also sent to your referring doctor and/or any doctor you specify — within 24 hours.
